History of Cor Jesu Mission

Our History

The Mission of Cor Jesu, formerly called St. Joseph Dream Home, started as a group of parishioners from St. Mary Huntley and a priest who desired to raise money to support an orphanage in the Philippines. As the mission continued to expand and evolve, by God’s Grace and inspiration, the very generous Brinckman (Donald and Beverly) family offered to donate their large property and home in Woodstock to the organization.

The organization took ownership of the property in late 2020. Through conversations with the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockford, it was determined that the organization and property would remain a private Christian organization.

After much prayer and discernment, in May 2021, the organization “re-opened” as Cor Jesu. We focused our ministries on local causes and opportunities to use the resources God has given us through the donation of the house and property. Ultimately, we would settle of the name “The Mission of Cor Jesu.” “Mission” meaning a place used to serve Christ and His Church, and calling, to bring all people to the Heart of Jesus.
