About The Mission of Cor Jesu

Who we are

The Mission of Cor Jesu is a Christian mission and retreat center located in Woodstock, Illinois. Cor Jesu is Latin for “Heart of Jesus,” and everything we do flows from that reality.

Our mission is to help all people encounter the love of the Heart of Jesus Christ. We do this through the ministries we offer, the family and community events we host, and by opening our property and facilities for Christ-centered retreats and gatherings. Parishes, churches, individuals, groups, and families are all welcomed to use this sacred space for prayer, formation, and encounter with Christ.

Our Purpose and Mission

The purpose and mission of the Mission of Cor Jesu is simple and singular: to help all people encounter the love of the Heart of Jesus Christ. This is our sole focus, our guiding aim, and the reason for our existence.

We invite all people to come, experience that love, and allow the Heart of Jesus to transform their lives here at the Mission of Cor Jesu.

Values of Cor Jesu’s Team

Solidly Catholic

We profess and believe all that the Catholic Church teaches. We are faithful to the Magisterium of the Church.

Eucharistic

Devotion to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus is none other than devotion to Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist. We are Eucharistic.

Marian

We place all of our intentions, good works, and all that we have in our Blessed Mother’s hands and rely on Her maternal intercession for all things. She is our patroness and protector.

Divine Mercy

We believe that Mercy is God’s greatest attribute. We promote the message of Divine Mercy to all who visit Cor Jesu or take part in our ministries.

Dignity of Life

We respect, promote, and defend life at all stages; from conception until natural death.

Community

“The community of believers were of one heart and mind…” (Acts 4:32) We believe that a community of believers is a beautiful and sacred thing. We seek to create opportunities to build and promote Christian community.

Unity of all Christians

“I pray … that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you…” (Jn 17:21). At Cor Jesu, all people of Christian faiths are welcome. We pray as the Lord did, that through our work, they may be one.

Natural Family Values

We affirm the natural order that holy matrimony is reserved to be celebrated between one man and one woman. We believe children should be welcomed freely as a gift from God. We celebrate and hold tightly to these Catholic family values.
